Late Payment & Fees

Late fee is 3% of unpaid amount.

Meter Reading Fee - $5

Failure to submit a meter reading for two (2) consecutive months will result in a cooperative representative being sent to read your meter(s). This charge will be imposed for each meter the cooperative is required to read and will appear on your electric service bill.

Returned Check Charge - $15

This charge will be assessed for any check(s) dishonored (returned unpaid) by the bank upon which it was drawn. A notice will be sent to you requiring immediate settlement of the account in the form of cash, bank draft or money order.

Collection Charge - $30

A trip charge will be imposed should it be necessary to dispatch a cooperative representative to your premises to collect a delinquent bill.

Reconnect Fee - $30

A reconnect fee is required when your service is disconnected for nonpayment, and reconnection is made during regular business hours.

Reconnect Fee – After Hours - $100

This fee is charged for a reconnection outside regular business hours. If any part of the trip is outside regular business hours, the $100.00 after-hours service call charge applies.

Service Call Charge - (Policy #2-116)

- Actual Cost for Additional Visits

In the event that a cooperative work crew is called to your premises during regular business hours, and the trouble is found to be in your wiring or equipment, this charge may be imposed. It will appear on your next bill for electric service. If any part of the trip is outside regular business hours, the $100 after-hours service call charge applies.

Service Call Charge – After Hours - (Policy #2-116)

- $75 1st Visit

- $150 2nd Visit

- Actual Cost for Additional Visits

This fee is charged for any service call outside regular business hours where the trouble is found to be in your wiring or equipment.

Requested Meter Test - $20

If you request a meter test to check the accuracy of the meter, an advance deposit will be required. If the meter test indicates the meter to be more than two percent (2%) fast or slow, an adjustment of bills will be made as required by the Minnesota Utilities Board.
*Fees and charges are subject to revision from time to time as authorized by the cooperative’s Board of Directors. The regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Changes to the regular business hours are posted in the monthly newsletter.
